Understudied Organized Crime Offending: A Discussion of the Canadian Situation in the International Context

This report provides an analysis of selected possible understudied organized crime activities \r\npresent in the Canadian context, contributing tothe knowledge on both of the nature and the scope \r\nof organized crime. The analysis involved an extensive review of the literature and available data \r\non organized crime activities in Canada, and a discussion of the existing state of organized crime \r\nliterature in the international context. The analysis was based on available literature, official \r\nreports and informed speculations. Given the difficulty in gathering information about \r\nunderstudied activities, an in-depth analysis of such activities was not always possible. \r\nNonetheless, the findings show the possible involvement of organized crime in some activities. \r\nSelected understudied organized crime activities were identified and analysed. Brief descriptions \r\nof the activities are included below.
