Abstract

The essay is aimed at clarifying the role and the function of d’Annunzio’s influence in Tozzi’s Egoisti: even though d’Annunzio’s influence has already been noted by the critics, it has never been investigated in details, through a comparison between the novel and d’Annunzio’s writings. The intertextual analysis revealed relevant similarities with respect of lexicon and themes but also important structural and composition differences.
