Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] This study aims to describe the argumentative strategies most used by parents to resolve argumentative dialogues with their children at mealtime in their favor. The results of the analysis of 132 argumentative dialogues between parents and children indicate that parents mainly use arguments based on notions of quality and quantity in discussions related to food. Parents use other types of arguments, such as the appeal to consistency, arguments from authority and arguments from analogy, in discussions related to teaching correct behavior in social situations outside the family context; for example, with teachers and peers. These results show how parents and children contribute to co-constructing the dialogic process of negotiating divergent opinions.
