Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The text highlights how the traditional notion of justice based on the paradigm of correspondence has largely conditioned Western culture, far beyond the criminal law sphere alone: betraying the authentic message of biblical justice. All these are considered reflections on the theory of war, as in general on political, economic-social and interpersonal relationships. Consequently, the traits of a "different" justice of a reparative nature are outlined, aimed at making right again relations that have not been and, therefore, for planning "according to good" even in the face of evil. This is also in the light of what Pope Francis hoped for in his speech addressed to representatives of the International Association of Criminal Law on October 23, 2014. A specific attention is devoted to the very strong words with which the pontiff called for overcoming the sentence of life imprisonment .
