Una giovanile prova futurista di Salvatore Quasimodo

The article examines the freeword table "Sera d'estate" written by Quasimodo at the age of sixteen and published in "L'Italia futurista" on 31 October 1917 (later re-published on 28 January 1962 in "La fiera letteraria"). The composition, which began as a playful experiment and remains a singleton in the production of the poet from Modica, allows a few traces of Marinettian influence on the young poet to be highlighted. While briefly outlining the characteristics of the Sicilian Futurist movement, and in particular its ability to stir the cultural environment of the island, this analysis also dwells on some aspects of the main Italian avant-garde that attracted Quasimodo's attention. Finally, attention is drawn to the author's subsequent contacts with Futurism, documented by feature articles and position papers that appeared in some periodicals.
