Abstract

The essay researches the historical developments of the rural community of Borgonato (Franciacorta - Italy) through a systematic archive research and also based on the archaeological discoveries. In particular the text highlights the pastoral care and the social activities of the ancient parish church of St. Vitale (VII-XV centuries), the manorial center of San Salvatore, linked to the monastery of St. Giulia in Brescia, and their relationships to the parish of St. Andrea of Iseo.
