Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Thanks to the inscription read on the back of an old photograph preserved in the State Archives of Cremona, it is perhaps possible to trace the place of origin of a Renaissance tabernacle executed by the Lugano sculptor Giovanni Gaspare Pedoni. The work, in sandstone, preserved until a few years ago at the European art collections of the Brooklyn Museum of New York, after being sold by the New York museum and auctioned at Christie's on November 22nd 2011, has entered the collection of a private trader.
