Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The humble origins of Albino Luciani are among the most under-investigated, at a historiographical level, of the life of the future Pope John Paul I. The book, after having studied childhood at Canale d'Agordo and the years of formation in the seminars of Feltre and Belluno, thanks to the precious support of archival documents and unpublished sources, focuses on the analysis of the first ministry as chaplain in Agordo and of the period spent at the service of the seminary and the curia of Belluno. The research itinerary then shows how the work of Luciani was significant for the formation of the future ruling class that led the Belluno in the difficult years after World War II.
