Un patto globale per l'educazione

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution highlights the peculiar aspects of the invitation made by Pope Francis to reconstruct a global educational pact. From the perspective of the Holy Father, it is a question of recognizing and promoting the transformative power of education as a true antidote to the culture of individualism. For this reason it is necessary to train people capable of overcoming fragmentations and conflicts to rebuild, after these difficult months, that fabric of relationships which alone can give life to a more fraternal humanity, in which each person feels responsible for the other. From this commitment to education a new paradigm can be born capable of responding to the challenges of today and tomorrow. This is why we need a new pedagogy centered on the ethics of responsibility and the principle of solidarity, indispensable elements for the creation of that village of education where, in the meeting between generations, cultures and religions, we can educate ourselves to a new humanism.
