Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The objective of the essay is to offer a contribution to reflect on the role of intermediate bodies within the democratic context, as subjects potentially capable of encouraging effective participation in public life by citizens. A similar intent is developed by attempting to bring out the points of contact between contemporary political theory and the social doctrine of the Church: in fact, the former considers them essential for the structuring of political representation and the latter essential elements for the expression of the sociality of the man. Keeping this link alive - even if developed with partly different intentions and perspectives - removes the risk of falling into the mistake of considering the action of the intermediate bodies exhausted even in seasons, like the current one, in which disintermediation seems to be the distinctive feature of social, political and economic relations.
