Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution presents and discusses a small Eeneo medallion of Probus, unearthed in Milan during the archaeological investigations carried out in 1998 in the area of the Basilica of Sant’Eustorgio and today exhibited at the "Antiquarium Ada Levi". The artifact belongs to the second festive series of the Ticinum mint, coined at the beginning of 278, in view of the donativum bestowed by Probus a few weeks later to celebrate his second consulate, the military successes he had just achieved beyond the Alps and his adventus in northern Italy. The Milanese piece is the only one in the series with context data.
