Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The role played on the Scala scene in the Ferdinand period by an exceptional interpreter, the singer Luigi Marchesi (1754-1829), offers the opportunity to investigate tastes, trends, fashions. The bohemian violinist and composer Václav Pichl (Bechyně 1741-Vienna 1805), who arrived in Milan from Vienna in 1777 by order of the Empress Maria Theresa, philharmonic academician in Mantua (since 1779), is the transcriber / recorder of the acrobatic embellishments made on stage by Marchesi. and in Bologna (from 1783), director of the music of the court chapel and Kammerdiener of Archduke Ferdinand of Habsburg-Este (1754-1806), governor of Milan until 1796.
