Abstract

A rural settlement of the imperial age in Palazzo Pignano (cr) · The site of Palazzo Pignano, currently inside the Cremona district, is known in the archeological feld for the great pavilions villa built in the late antiquity age (iv-v century A.D.). Although the interest of specialists was focused on the residencial complex, now in consequence of regular excavations, started in 2016 and still in progress, signifcant data are emerging about an older settlement. The site underwent several transformations during the imperial age until the construction of the pavilions villa.The purpose of this paper is to ofer an update about the most ancient phases of the settlement, analyzing the structural remains and the material culture
