Abstract
At the beginning of the seventies, when the tension between the powers of the Cold War remained constant and at the same time anti-nuclear environmentalism found lifeblood in a new collective awareness, Primo Levi and Juan Rodolfo Wilcock recounted with irony and disenchantment the anthropological imbalances that germinated underneath the threat of the atomic bomb. A few months later, respectively with the publication of "Vizio di forma" (1971) and the "Sinagoga degli iconoclasti" (1972), in tandem with "The stereoscopio of the solitary" (1972), both authors trace a path of destruction, which goes from the most recent explosive pitfalls to the reactualization of the weapons of a heroic past, in the case of Levi, or to their humorous placement among the sequins of the mythological world, according to Wilcock's sharp ways. In the three collections of stories, which are worth relating to highlight hermeneutical and stylistic affinities, the evaluation of humanity's progress cannot ignore the inventory of the weapons with which it vows to self-destruct.
