Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Between the theology of Saint Augustine and the metaphysics of Descartes, the link is well established, but nothing seems to authorize any proximity between Origen and the French philosopher. Nowhere, in fact, is there any mention of Origen in the writings of Descartes, whether in his works or in his correspondence. However, and despite the lack of data, from the second half of the 17th century, a certain number of authors have brought these two thinkers together. This essay aims to establish a parallel between these two authors, through the analysis of the proximities that, historically, have been noted and the evaluation of their relevance.
