Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] In this paper we intend to highlight the main social and family areas in our country characterized by conditions of equality / equality between men and women, also using the results of recent surveys. As a preliminary point we believe it is essential to clarify that the concept of equality does not indicate, in our opinion, a simple cancellation of the differences with a view to achieving a formal gender equality, but implies the enhancement of diversity, in the recognition of common human dignity , masculine and feminine. The main aspects about which empirical observation has made and still reveals disparities in the condition of men and women can be identified in education (in particular in the upper and university levels), in the working dimension (both as regards insertion both as regards the permanence in the world of work) and in family life. The challenges that the current socio-cultural scenario poses for the realization of gender equality will be analyzed in the light of the main family transitions.
