Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The article investigates the nature and function of some philosophical and literary sources recalled in Camillo Boito's short story 'Dall’agosto al novembre' – included in the 'Storielle vane' of 1876, but already published in the 'Nuova Antologia' in 1871 ‒, paying particular attention to the 'Ricordi' of Marcus Aurelius, to the fragments of Monimo the Cynic and, finally, to Petrarch's 'Canzoniere'.
