Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The paper proposes a reflection on the pivotal role played by respect for human life in the lay structure of the Constitution, as a presupposition of the principle of equality and, in this way, of democracy. It reflects on the characteristics that define the presence of a human life and on the risks deriving from a so-called flexibilisation of the protection of that legal asset.
