Abstract
If our concept of being is univocal we are obliged to think of becoming as implying not-being, but if our concept of being is analogical, according to its true character, we must think of becoming as implying a mere limitation of being, not unlike plurality. On the other hand we are only certain that reality contains a true, not merely seeming plurality if there is something not necessary in nature, i. e. if there is free-will as a feature of thinking subjects; and this is very important because plurality is the only valid starting-point for a correct proof of the existence of God.
