Traiettorie inesplorate di antropologia del cibo: lo stato dell'arte dell'antropologia della birra in Italia. Narrare i Gruppi

Anthropologists have always been interested in the consumption of foods that societies prefer for their livelihood and, last but not least, in how they activate rituals that\ r\ n dictate both the production and consumption of these foods. In this direction, cultural anthropology has always focused on the analysis of relationships, meanings and\ r\ n practices that revolve around the consumption of food and the rituals inherent to the exchange of these goods. However, despite the growing interest in the anthropology of\ r\ n food, beer has received less attention from the anthropological community, despite its increasingly prominent role in group and playful relationships now\ r\ n widespread worldwide. In Italy, then, beer had a recent development, but, despite this, it quickly surpassed the consumption of wine. In order to deepen\ r\ n knowledge on this topic, the limited, albeit interesting Italian studies available, are also accompanied by international contributions. The objective of the contribution is, however, focused on a systematic review of Italian anthropological literature on the subject, highlighting the main areas of analysis and outlining possible future directions of research. The article concludes by stressing the importance of deepening studies\ r\ n on the anthropology of beer precisely in order to better understand its cultural and historical relevance.
