Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay considers the large thirteenth-century decoration of the apse of the right nave of the cathedral of Piacenza, repainted in 1900 by Luigi Morgari during the restoration of the architectural complex, on the basis of unpublished archival documentation and the possibility of identifying some traces of the original painting, compared with the Emilian context of the 13th century. Furthermore, as far as possible, the very damaged fragments of frescoes from the vault of the current entrance to the sacristy, dating back to the previous century, are presented.
