[Autom. eng. transl.] The International Liberal Order is a project that intended to harmonize state sovereignty and the market economy, by promoting liberal democracy domestically and supporting economic and trade cooperation internationally. Since the 1980s, OLI has been hijacked and the power of the market has dulled the strength of democracy. The goal of protecting national societies from the shocks of wars and financial crises has been reversed into the fanatical defense of the global market against social pressures. The imbalance caused by the pandemic, global warming, rampant inequality, the rise of authoritarian powers, the drama of migrations and the continuing threat of terrorism are challenges that we can overcome only on condition that we find a different balance between cooperation and competition, for make our market democracies robust, inclusive, fair and attractive.
