His opinion, however, can be obtained from his writings. To understanding Aquinas ' opinion about the categories we must take as a basis the notion of ens, the concept logically first.Underlying the derivation of the categories of Thomas there is the affirmation of an isomorphism between language and reality: different modes of predication reflect different modes in which the being itself is created, or according to the language of Thomas, different modi essendi .",
