Abstract
This article contextualizes and offers an annotated translation of passages of the Kitab al-Majalis ('book of dialogues') by Elias of Nisibis (975-1046).
In particular, the article translates about one half of the first dialogue between Elias and the vizier Abū l-Qāsim al-Maġribī - on Monotheism and Trinity - and the fifth dialogue, containing the famous profession of monotheism.
