The Mystery of Social Work. A critical analysis of the global definition and the new suggestion according to the Relational theory

Research output: Book/ReportBook

Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The text has the ambition to go to the root of the "mystery" that has always characterized Social Work, namely the difficulty in conceptualizing its essence in a few simple words. While for all other professions (especially healthcare) it is intuitively clear what they are dealing with, for Social Work it has never been so. The Relational Theory is used as an illuminating reading key, not only to highlight the ambiguities and some conceptual limits of the current definition (Montreal 2000), but above all to suggest useful ideas in view of possible alternative formulations.
