Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The perception of insecurity in relation to one's workplace is an increasingly frequent and pervasive phenomenon in the current economic and cultural context. It is essential to have reliable and valid tools to measure this phenomenon. In this paper we propose a modification to the scale of Chirumbolo et al. (2015), remodeling the Italian formulation of an item on the scale. The questionnaire was administered to 315 subordinate Italian workers. One hundred and fifty-seven participants completed the original scale while one hundred and fifty-eight participants completed the revised scale with the proposed change. The results of both the factorial exploratory analysis and confirmed that the revised item is better able to capture the aspect of concern regarding job insecurity. Also the reliability of the scale improves in the revised version compared to the original one.
