Abstract
This essay aims to provide a brief outline of the history of the Italian Academic Society for Education, and to show its current situation in view of recent changes in its communications policy, the push towards internationalization, actions
taken in favour of younger researchers and the new impetus given to the SIPED journal, that has transferred online and adopted a strict policy of double blinded evaluation of articles.
