Abstract
The contribution first of all deals with what is really "Big Data" (BD), secondly, an overview on BD in healthcare, and finally a survey on BD facing with beginning-of-life issues (BOL). The conclusion is that The future uses of BD in BOL is an open and rapidly growing universe, where not all factors can be identified in advance and further research is requested.
