Abstract

The paper studies the story of Don Juan's continuous presence on the European stage from the Baroque to the present, through continuous rewriting in different theatrical contexts. The paper test the metamorphosis of a structure like that of the character; moreover in the Don Juan's constant appearance on the stage through a period of several centuries, we can grasp some phases of the affirmation of the individual as one of the pillars of the West's anthropological horizon.
