Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] This chapter aims to analyze the contribution of the Third Sector to the provision of health goods and services. In paragraph 1, a brief review of the Third Sector entities operating in this area is developed, with an in-depth analysis of their main activities. In paragraph 2, we briefly reconstruct the historical path which, starting from the end of the Seventies, led to the growth and differentiation of the forms of intervention of Third Sector organizations in healthcare. Paragraph 3 illustrates the main reasons behind this growth, through the examination of the specific contribution of private social entities with respect to the health issue
