Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The UNI 11235 standard reports the instructions for the design, execution, control and maintenance of green roofs, and the UNI EN ISO 14688-1: 2002 (E) and ISO 14688-2: 2004 (E) standards guidelines for the assessment, identification and classification of soils for engineering purposes. On the basis of these rules, the reconstituted lands are presented and an environmental requalification project of a former landfill that foresees its use. The results of the chemical-physical analyzes of these soils related to the parameters required by the legislation such as: total nitrogen, organic carbon, carbon / nitrogen ratio, pH, conductivity, capacity and water retention curve and absence of foreign materials, qualify them as suitable for the design and redevelopment of a green area. The effectiveness of reconstitution (technology patented by the company mcm Ecosistemi) in producing soils capable of combating the soil degradation process is one of the objectives of a Life + project co-financed by the European Community (Life10 ENV / IT / 000400 New Life). This project envisages the environmental requalification as a demonstration phase and the consequent usability of a former landfill located on the outskirts of Piacenza. The realization of the cultivation layer foresees the placement of the reconstituted lands in the intervention site in order to create the edaphic conditions and a suitable thickness for the following afforestation. The design of the vegetation layer includes the choice of species and the type of environment to be recreated considering the territorial, climatic and historical context of the area. Attention was also paid to the integration between the design of the cultivation layer, vegetation and maintenance strategies (weeds) and irrigation, as required by the standard.
