Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Unlike the rest of the territory of the Seprio, the village of Varese, temporal property of the Milanese episcopate, remained always lined up on the side of Milan during the clash between the Lombard city and the emperor Frederick I. This earned him the recognition of the rank of village.
