Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] In Italy, it is still difficult to establish a long-term cultural history of television that takes into consideration the qualitative analysis of the audience, the social impact of the different programs, their weight on the national imagination. This also and above all because there was no desire to intersect the history of the broadcaster with that, from the "bottom", of the receiver. And yet, in this sense, international bibliography is full of stimuli: historians, anthropologists, media studies scholars have reconstructed the cultural landscape created by the media in a very fruitful perspective that is found in the essays contained here. In addition to the historical perspective, the book outlines some lines for a study of television and imaginary dialectics, or the role of television in the construction of media landscapes that, representing individuals and social groups, are implemented in the public sphere by modifying it.
