Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Seventy years after its birth, television has redefined its boundaries while reaffirming its centrality within the national media system. In the context of the new ecosystem characterized by the coexistence of broadcasting and streaming, television innovates itself and acquires the status of a "resilient TV", capable of incorporating the change that comes from social media and streaming platforms. Following the 2021 Television Yearbook entitled Television in the pandemic and the subsequent Total TV (2022), the 2023 Yearbook interprets the main lines of transformation that have characterized the offer, production and consumption of TV and the broader system of audiovisuals during the 2023 year. The Yearbook is produced by CeRTA (Centre for Research on Television and Audiovisuals of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart) in collaboration with Auditel, APA (Association of Audiovisual Producers), Sensemakers, Comscore, Nielsen, UPA (Associated Advertising Users), Confindustria Radio Televisioni, eMedia and boasts the patronage of the Communications Regulatory Authority (AGCOM).
