Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Relations between China and Tanzania have deep historical roots in the construction of railways: in 1906 1,000 Chinese built the first railway under the supervision of the German colonial administration; following independence in September 1967, the Tanzania Railway was the largest and most expensive project in Africa, along with the Aswan dam and the Volta river dams.
