Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Benjamin teaches that speaking of "tragic" does not mean referring immediately to the form of representation of tragedy and its historical-literary heritage. Tragic is the tragic drama of the twentieth century: the negativity and failure of the existent, the powerlessness of the divine and the desperate experience of nothingness. Tragic is the intent or Benjaminiana radical who, wanting the end of this nihilistic and vacuous modernity, decides for the inescapable and fatal impact with the negative.
