Studiare la circolazione. Metodologie e problematiche di un progetto di ricerca.

[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay aims to frame and thematize the issue of the international circulation of films, with particular reference to contemporary Italian cinema. In the era of 'media convergence' the consumption of audiovisuals takes place in such a fragmented way that simply speaking of 'distribution' no longer seems sufficient. The concept of 'circulation' allows, instead, to focus attention on a process of mapping the movements of audiovisual products in different contexts, in order to investigate their more general cultural impact. The essay subsequently introduces the objectives of the research project "CinCit - International Circulation of Italian Cinema" (funded under the PRIN - Research Project of National Interest). A series of case studies are identified that allow better understanding of the forms of international circulation of national cinema.
