Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The book contains a series of essays on the epitome, by Giustino, of the Philippine Stories of Pompeo Trogo, for the period from Alexander the Great to Philip V of Macedonia. In this area of the work the question of sources has proved to be central, in particular the relationship with Timagene and his work Sui re, which was to show great interest in the fundamental theme that Giustino treats here, the history of the formation of the great Hellenistic monarchies and their historical development in the key to the transmission of empires (translatio imperii).
