Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume collects contributions, published and unpublished, on female poetry of the sixteenth century, the result of a research project developed and carried out over a period of about five years. Dedicated to well-known poets and lesser-known figures, they offer interpretations and evaluations attentive to the historical, social and cultural context, to the 'dialogue' that the authors established with each other and with the literary circles of the time, the relationship with tradition (classical and vulgar ) and with the new models; and at the same time they try to broaden their gaze to minor and peripheral experiences, not 'canonical', but which should be kept in mind if we want to get a better understanding of the whole. The result is a blurred and articulated panorama of sixteenth-century female writing, traversed by internal tensions, which also opens up to forms and genres outside the lyrical sphere, with an increasingly mature awareness.
