Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The book has a purely economic imprint, centered on the "new industrial revolution" considered not so much as a transformation of a productive sector alongside others, but as a transformation of the structural forge of innovation, which determines effects in all sectors of the economy. The resulting national production systems can be more or less powerful, depending on the available structures and the strategies pursued. The survey mainly involves Europe and Italy, in the knowledge that these two production systems live in the open space of continuous innovation. Both Europe and Italy host champions of innovation and competitiveness and of these the volume is, without however forgetting the structural and strategic problems that are stirring in the background. It is indeed necessary for the largest subject, Europe, to design and build meta-structures that give impetus to meta-strategies for national innovation systems. This means, from another but complementary point of view, also addressing the problem of European meta-infrastructures where national innovation systems are based
