Strawson e Russell

Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] In the complex relationship between Strawson and Russell various philosophical problems are intertwined; this contribution focuses on the criticism addressed by the first to the author of On Denoting. The object of the dispute is the problem of the truth value of propositions whose subject presents properties that do not refer to anything. Two theoretical perspectives clearly emerge from the debate between the two philosophers and their interlocutors, leading to two different and divergent conceptions of the role and program of philosophy itself.
