Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay presents the first results of the investigations carried out during the broad and articulated Mobartech project concerning the Visconti insula in the center of Milan in a chronological range that goes from 1277 to 1385. Specifically, the study of the palaces of Azzone (1329-1339), Giovanni (1342-1354) and Bernabò (1354-1385) Visconti and of the palatine church of San Giovanni in Conca based on in-depth archival reconnaissance, analysis of the surviving fourteenth-century monuments and decorations. At the same time, a reinterpretation of the "urban strategy" of the settlement of the Visconti court in the historic center of the city is provided, which slowly also takes possession of the ancient seats of the municipal government.
