Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The paper wants to be an element of continuity with the previous relationships, proposing to shed light on the situation in the 2016/17 training year regarding the characteristics of the presence of foreign students in the Brescia scenario. In particular, the following aspects are intended to be explored: • The size of the foreign presence in Brescia schools. We want to provide the numbers of students with non-Italian citizenship, their incidence with respect to the total number of students, in every order and grade of school, their distribution in the different secondary school addresses (including vocational training), as well as the their origin. • Foreigners in Brescia universities. Some data on the presence of foreign students at the university are taken into consideration (registered and enrolled), comparing their distribution and impact on the single university and study area chosen. • The school results of foreign students. Data is provided on learning, in Italian and Mathematics, in some scholastic levels, with an in-depth analysis of situations of difficulty (low achieving) and excellence (high achieving). To investigate the phenomenon, we will use the data provided by the Ministry of Education and its National Student Registry (about the numerical extent of the foreign presence in schools and universities) and by Invalsi through the annual standardized disclosure of learning (in this regard to school results). The analyzes will not only take into account the 2016/17 situation in Brescia but will try to show the overall evolution over time, providing comparisons between Italian students and foreign students, placing this phenomenon in the Lombard and Italian context, sometimes with timely comparisons with neighboring provinces .
