Storie di jihadismo. Il processo di radicalizzazione e la sua plausibilità

[Autom. eng. transl.] In the time span between the Parisian massacre at the drafting of Charlie Hebdo and the summer of 2016, there has been an authentic escalation of terrorist attacks on various grounds related to the world of the jihadist galaxy. The homegrown terrrorism phenomenon raises questions about the motivations that push to sign the jihadist cause. The approach we intend to adopt in this chapter, based on an ecological perspective and on Latour's Actor-Network Theory, intends to focus on the analysis of the "stories" of those who have lived a path of jihadist radicalization, starting precisely from presupposition of the plausibility of a given course of action. According to this approach, there are several "plausibility regimes", such that trajectories such as jihadist ones are not, but become plausible. The contribution has the following structure: in the first paragraph we give a brief account of what is meant by the expression "plausibility regimes"; in the second paragraph the elements that, in a chain, go to build this same plausibility are explained; in the third paragraph illustrates, through the use of some stories of jihadists, taken from the scientific literature and the paraliterary sources judged more reliable, as the elements identified above act in the modeling of the trajectories of radicalization, highlighting in particular those joints that seem, if do not deny, at least problematize the most widespread interpretations within the public debate; finally, in the conclusions, a review of this analysis is proposed in the light of the broader debate on the subject and a relaunch in terms of further investigation paths that become pertinent and necessary.
