Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The article investigates the patrimonial and matrimonial strategies implemented by the Gonzaga of Mantua during the fourteenth century. In particular, the events that involved Anna Dovara are analyzed, descending from an important Cremonese lineage, to which belonged the better-known Buoso da Dovara, chief exponent of the pro-imperial group. Anna, who brought with her a very rich dowry, was chosen as wife by Filippino Gonzaga; from their union was born Egidiola Gonzaga, who became the wife of Matteo II Visconti. The essay focuses on the historical and procedural events that involved the two women and on the definitive passage of the conspicuous patrimony of the Dovara to the Gonzaga.
