[Autom. eng. transl.] Few studies have investigated the subject of maltreatment in the school context implemented by teachers against pupils. The present study proposes a preliminary analysis of the existing relationships between perception of abusive situations in the classroom and educational styles of teachers, with the aim of understanding if the quality of the educational style (directive-flexible) is associated with a different level of sensitivity in the comparisons of maltreatment within the school context. 80 primary school teachers participated in the study (78 females and 2 males), who were given a questionnaire to survey the educational style of teachers and a questionnaire for measuring sensitivity to abusive situations in the school context. The data, analyzed mainly through multiple regressions, showed that having a more flexible educational style predicts a greater sensitivity to the psychological mistreatment of the students. On the contrary, other demographic variables (teaching years, having children) are not associated with a different perception of maltreatment in the school context.
