Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Due to their polyfunctionality (as information offers for potential applicants or as marketing instruments in the context of so-called employer branding and corporate reputation management), their multiple addresses (applicant orientation or customer orientation) and their multimodal nature (publication in print and electronic media), job advertisements are particularly well suited to researching the complexity of professional communication in today's globalized labor market. The contrastive perspective on this complexity also enables insights into culture-specific and cross-cultural tendencies in text type changes in current professional communication.
This article presents the results of a text-pragmatic and culture-contrastive study on action structure and textualization strategies in legal job advertisements. Following previous studies on German and Danish job advertisements (cf. Luttermann 2017 and Luttermann/Engberg 2017), a text corpus of online advertisements from Italian lawyers' association portals is examined as part of the existing analysis. By additionally pointing out the special characteristics of job advertisements on law firm websites, the focus is further sharpened on the influence of the presentation medium (here: company website) and the sector-specific embedding on the design of personnel recruitment in the legal sector.
