Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Objective: To evaluate the changes in prenatal ultrasound diagnosis of natural history and pediatric outcome of fetal spina bifida in two periods: 70 cases (group 1) followed from February 1980 to June 1994 and 112 cases (group 2) followed by July 1994 to February 2010. Method: 182 cases of Spina Bifida fetale (159 open and 23 closed) were followed in our Center by multidisciplinary diagnosis at the end of pregnancy. Results: Prenatal ultrasound diagnosis was performed in 172 cases (94.5%), mainly in the third trimester in group 1, mostly in the second trimester in group 2. Perinatal / infant mortality in group 1 was 28.3%, in group 2 by 12.2%
