Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution presents the preliminary data of the first part of the experiment for the reconstruction of a furnace for the reduction of hematite. The experience is part of a wider research project aimed at investigating the impact that the iron cycle, both ancient and modern, had on the Populonia area and the consequent strategies that archaeological research must adopt to operate a correct reading of the landscape.
