Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] In the first two chapters Stefano Pasta provides the theoretical framework necessary to introduce and support chapter 4, dedicated instead to teaching practices and guidelines (edited by Enrica Bricchetto). The author explains some basic concepts such as prejudice, stereotype, logics of racism, and then goes on to analyze the Web and the characteristics, also technical, on which online communication is based. It is precisely the peculiarities of the digital environment that facilitate the propagation of hate messages. The response of the world of education and institutions to these questions is contained in chapter 3, where some recent documents from the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) and the Council of Europe are illustrated. Chapter 4 therefore enters into the heart of the most practical part of this work, with a collection of cards containing operational indications for teachers and students. The Guide is completed with educational and didactic ideas, some basic suggestions from which to tackle racism and all forms of hatred online with the kids.
